Providence Helps Faciliate Discussions on Vision for Cross Bayou Corridor in Caddo Parish

The planned development of the Cross Bayou Corridor is underway as citizens, engineers and city officials gathered Monday to discuss a new future for the 120-acre site adjacent to downtown’s central business district.

Providence Senior Planner, Mart Black, said the objective of the forum was to gather ideas to create a vision of how the site should be developed. “If we can get in the workshops that will take place later in the fall, we tend to use that vision to shape a concept for the development of the site,” he said. More meetings are slated to take place in the fall.

In the meantime, an environmental survey of the area is in progress. Providence Site Evaluation and Remediation Services Manager, Melanie Hanks, said the survey will be used to identify areas within the corridor that have potential environmental issues and to priortize and rank sites for acqusition and development.
