Assessment activities under the City of Alexandria’s Hazardous Assessment Grant awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Adjacent to the Ruston Foundry Superfund Site, rail spurs and loading docks located on the subject property had provided support to foundry operations. The scope of work included: Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) preparation. The need for assistance with obtaining a Letter of No Interest from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) was based on the findings of the Phase II ESA. In support of the redevelopment of the area, additional assessment activities were planned for surrounding lots to potentially be acquired by the City.
