This facility is built in a flood zone and has a three-bay apparatus room on the first floor with overhead doors for drive through capacity. Also, on the first floor are flood relief vents, equipment rooms, and storage rooms. There is an elevator, a spiral staircase, fire pole and two stairs to the second floor. The second floor is built with a 10-foot gallery on three sides. It has offices for the chief and assistant, toilet and shower facilities, a meeting room, and kitchen. There is also a separate dormitory that sleeps six and has a toilet and shower facility, washer and dryer, kitchen and lounge. An elevated equipment platform has mechanical condensers and a generator. The building’s first floor is brick and CMU masonry. The second floor has wood framing with a hip shaped standing seam metal roof for wind performance.
