Providence’s Aimee Killeen & CJ Franklin Attend WEFTEC & Its Community Events

Providence’s Company Leader, Aimee Killeen, and Director of Business Development, CJ Franklin, are attending the Water Environment Federation's Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC),  in Chicago, IL from September 21 - 25. WEFTEC offers water quality professionals from around the world the best water quality education and training available. As the largest annual water quality exhibition in the world, the conference provides unparalleled access to the most cutting-edge technologies in the field through technical sessions, workshops, mobile sessions, facility tours, and more than 1,000 exhibitors.

In conjunction with the conference, the WEF Students and Young Professionals Committee (SYPC) develop several regular programs that aim to drive innovation, enrich the expertise of water professionals, and increase the awareness of the value of water. One of the programs was Water Palooza on Friday, September 20, at Maria Saucedo Scholastic Academy.  The goal of Water Palooza was to engage elementary school students in hands-on and demonstrative activities that promote the value of water and encourage students to become stewards of their own water environment. This year, approximately 400 children attended.

In addition to Water Palooza, the SYPC hosted its 12th annual community service project. This annual service project aims to showcase the dedication of WEF volunteers have in improving the water environment and educating the community about the value of water.
