Providence Recipient of Community Caring Award from Mid City Redevelopment Alliance

Providence was honored to receive the Baton Rouge General Community of Caring Award presented by the Mid City Redevelopment Alliance. Providence was selected for its commitment to helping the Mid City area of Baton Rouge prosper and thrive. As a corporation, Providence has promoted inner city revitalization by giving life to an old abandoned building that serves as its corporate headquarters today. Providence not only prides itself on being an investor and historic preservationist of Mid City, but also a friend. Through its wellness program, and more specifically, the Providence Corporate Cup, this organization has supported both MCRA and the Big Buddy Program for almost 10 years. Providence CEO Karen Holden, PE, was at the Legacy by Lights event to accept the award on behalf of Providence.

Providence was originally to be honored at the 2016 event, but the catastrophic flooding forced the Mid City Redevelopment Alliance to cancel the event. The event was held on Thursday, October 26th at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library. For more information on the event and the Mid City Redevelopment Alliance, click here.
