Providence Disaster Recovery Professional Speaks at LSU Flood Symposium

Providence's Disaster Recovery Project Manager, Jennifer Perkins, CFM, was asked to speak at the LSU Flood Symposium on August 13th. The symposium was sponsored by the Louisiana Geological Survey and the Baton Rouge Geological Society and focused on the 2016 Baton Rouge flood. Perkins touched on the emergency management cycle, what the State of Louisiana is doing to recover from the flooding, and what steps to take to be prepared and have a game plan for disasters.

The free event included speakers from WBRZ, WAFB, the Louisiana Geological Survey, LSU Department of Geography & Anthropology, the National Weather Service, the Amite River Basin Drainage and Water Control District, the US Geological Survey, the LSU Department of Economics, and an independent civil engineer.
