Providence Announces Roy Payne, PE, as Principal of Providence Engineering and Design, LLC - BR

The Providence Board of Directors has promoted Roy Payne, PE, to Principal of Providence Engineering and Design, LLC, the firm’s engineering, architecture, and surveying division. Payne previously served as project manager/project engineer for Providence. Payne will lead the Baton Rouge office and its operations.

Payne began his Providence career in 2016 as a project engineer. He is a registered Professional (Civil) Engineer in Louisiana with more than 16 years of experience in the construction of transportation and related civil projects. During his career, he has participated in all phases of project development on a wide variety of transportation and wastewater projects. His transportation project experience includes interstate reconstruction, interstate interchange construction, and large-scale urban projects. He has served as both an Assistant Project Engineer and Project Engineer for transportation projects, and as a Design Engineer on wastewater projects. He has experience with a multitude of different projects, each with differing scopes, that includes restriping interstates, large- and small-scale bridge replacements, sewer construction of sewer force main, gravity sewer and pump stations, large-scale traffic signal intersection upgrades, and drainage improvement projects. He has been responsible for constructability reviews, temporary traffic control plans, sequence of construction reviews, overall project plan review, utility coordination and relocation oversight, outlining contract time and road closure requirements.  Payne is an active member of ASCE and received his BS in Civil Engineering from LSU.
