Yousheng Zeng, Ph.D., P.E.
Dr. Zeng joined Providence as the Air Quality Services Director in 2002. He brings 19 years of experience in every aspect of air quality management. Dr. Zeng received his Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also received an MBA degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is a Professional Engineer registered in the state of Louisiana and four other states. As an Adjunct Professor, Dr. Zeng taught two graduate level air pollution control engineering courses at Southern Methodist University for six years. He has conducted numerous workshops with hundreds of professionals attending. Dr. Zeng has published 19 peer-reviewed research papers in national and international journals, contributed chapters in five books, and presented 34 papers at conferences. He has served on multiple committees and workgroups at state and national levels including Louisiana AERMOD Modeling Workgroup, HRVOC Workgroup, Operating Permit Workgroup, EPA Science Advisory Board/Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee/Ambient Air Monitoring and Methods Subcommittee, Hurricane Katrina Air Monitoring Workgroup, and Scientific and Technological Achievement Award Committee. He has also served as an expert witness in four legal cases. Dr. Zeng has been instrumental in development of multiple groundbreaking monitoring and data management systems and was the inventor of U.S. Patent 7,600,441 and another pending patent. Dr. Zeng currently serves as Providence’s Managing Partner.
