Senior Environmental Scientist - Houston TX

Providence, a multidiscipline environmental and engineering consulting firm with offices in Dallas, Houston, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Alexandria, Louisiana, is looking for an aggressive and talented individual to expand its Natural Resources Services in the Houston, Texas and Gulf Coast markets. It is imperative that the successful candidate possesses proven business development skills and the capacity to provide/procure work immediately. Also required is a solid technical background in multiple facets of ecological and environmental compliance and project management. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter that will assume initiative, is versatile, has a service mentality and is skilled in oral and written communication.

Basic Qualifications

• Proven business development skills and client interaction/management
  
• B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Biology, Forestry, Fisheries, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, or closely related field
• Five years experience in conducting/managing biological surveys (including sensitive species surveys) and impact assessments
• Experience with conducting and/or managing projects (with and emphasis on the energy and transportation sectors) with the following components:
  • National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
  • Ecological monitoring and reporting
  • Section 10/404 USACE permitting
  • Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) 7c compliance
  • Wetland delineations and USACE jurisdictional wetland determination requests
  • ESA Section 7 or Section 10 processes
