Biologist/Wetland Scientist - Lake Charles, LA

Providence Engineering and Environmental Group, LLC is seeking a mid level biologist/wetland scientist to join our highly skilled team of environmental professionals and to assist in growing our Lake Charles, Louisiana office. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a full service team providing the highest quality consulting services to the public and private sectors in the fields of transportation, oil and gas exploration and production, urban development, and environmental restoration. We are seeking an individual with the ability to:

• Delineate wetlands, document findings according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers standards, conduct biological surveys, and prepare permitting documents
• Experience with Federal Endangered Species Act compliance and coastal restoration are a plus

Minimum qualifications include:

• Three to five years of professional consulting experience
• Proposal preparation and business development experience is a requisite of the successful candidate
• USACE Section 10/404, Coastal Use Permitting
• Mitigation planning and monitoring
• Biological Assessments under ESA Section 7
• Client/Agency interaction
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong desire for career growth and advancement

Education:

• B.S. (M.S. preferred) in the Biological/Environmental Sciences or related fields
